Jan is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is married to an only child and has an older sister, a twin sister, and two brothers. From personal and professional experience, Jan understands relationships, personal struggles, and couples and family dynamics.
Jan sees the therapeutic process as one characterized by openness and a colloborative partnership. Since each person is unique, treatment is specifically designed and adopted to the needs of each client.
Jan uses an integrative and eclectic approach in Individual therapy sessions, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, Active Listening, Attachment therapy and Family-of-Origin therapy.
Couples therapy is structured around the Gottman method --a highly regarded and well researched therapy. Jan also calls upon Emotionally-Focused therapy and Colloborative therapy in her sessions.
Couples in a collaborative partnership with Jan are expected to participate in therapy with a willingness to work both in and outside the counseling sessions in order to reach their highest success, fulfillment, and happiness together.
